In this year’s pop-up category, Natural Abstract, we’re looking for striking, surreal photos of nature where colours, shapes, and textures melt together to create something beyond the ordinary. Whether it’s the twisted bark of a tree, the fluid patterns of ripples on water, or the rugged beauty of rocks, let your creativity roam free.
The 2025 Wild Dunedin theme celebrates the incredible story of our unique geology. So, immerse yourself in the region’s natural wonders—from dramatic coastlines to stunning rock formations—and show us how you can capture Dunedin’s wild, abstract beauty in a whole new light!

Photo specifications:
- Minimum file size 1MB
- Maximum file size 10MB
- Photos must be submitted as JPEG files
- Printed images may be printed at 200mm x 250mm (8in x 10in), A2 - 420 x 594mm, A1 - 594 841mm, A0 - 841 x 1189mm and displayed digitally at 1920 x 1080 pixels.
- We recommend you leave the format of your image in standard rectangle shape; images may be cropped to the above specification as required.
- Borders, watermarks or signatures should not be included
