Hector's dolphin, Cephalorhynchus hectori, VT173

Physical Description

Largely complete skull missing the ventral portions of the pterygoid bones, the left postorbital process of the frontal, the left zygomatic process of the squamosal, most of the teeth, and both tympanoperiotics. The palate is covered in a thin layer of dried soft tissue. Additional soft tissue is preserved on top of the nasals and inside the mesorostral groove.
