Hector's dolphin, Cephalorhynchus hectori, VT168
Physical Description
Cranium of a small dolphin missing both pterygoids, nasals, and tympanoperiotics. Most or all of the PR teeth are embedded in a strip of dried soft tissue attached to the rostrum. Some additional soft tissue is covering the occipital condyles and the ventral side of the right lacrimojugal. The left maxilla, premaxilla, and lacrimojugal are detached from the rest of the skull. Many of the skull sutures are open.
