Physical Description
Short sword - wakizashi. Hilt with rayskin wrapped with black cords of two different weaves. Wrapping become frayed and beginning to unwind. No menuki. Kashira with dragon (?) design. Fuchi plain. Tsuba (copper or brass?) decorated with stylised stars over whole surface. Openings in tsuba for kozuka and kogai. Plain black lacquered scabbard, slightly dented and chipped. Kurikata present but cord missing. Blade in quite good condition; slight discolouration and pitting. Has been repolished with harsh abrasive that has marred original finish. harmon a very irregularly curving line. Length of blade: 46.5cm. Overall length (minus scabbard): 62.5cm.
