Physical Description
Ivory figurine made in three main parts; a stylised lotus throne base, a figure carved in the half-round and a back plate, all pegged together. The figure is a woman dressed in a long gown with long sashes and necklaces. Hair is worn up under a scroll-like headdress. In the left hand is a lotus seed pod and in the right a sutra roll. The back plate is pointed at the top and is quite thin with a deep groove on the reverse side. The back plate is decorated with an engraved pattern of stylised clouds.
