Description from "Greek Vases in the Otago Museum": Inside two youths conversing, within a medallion surrounded by an elaborate meander. Outside, palmettes under the handles, and on each side of the vase a seated youth between two standing. On one side of the vase the seated youth is seen from the front; he holds up his writing tablets, and the boy on his right carries a bag. On the other side, the right hand boy holds a flute case. All three scenes are inscribed "The Boy is Fair" in red paint.
