Amulet, D91.12

Nephrite/pounamu, kawakawa variety. Serpent amulet or pendant in nephrite. Double sided ie image carved on both sides. Perforation hole is of hour glass form but shows no sign of wear caused by long term suspension. Hole in coiled "tail" also hourglass in shape. Has red wax in eyes. Whole surface of piece has an odd granular appearance.
