Physical Description
Small canoe shaped box. Lid flat and decorated with strap motif in parallel stripes along its length. Lid has a hole in centre for cord attachment. Base has large interlocking double spiral occupying most of area with two smaller double spirals in between and strap motif filling remaining spaces. Ends have heads. One faces outwards and the other faces downwards with jaws and mouth on body of box. Both have paua eyes and are laterally pierced. There are two eyes on each side of the box.
