Physical Description
Scottish basket-hilted broadsword for other ranks.
Hilt is the Scottish broadsword type, very simple without perforations usually seen. No quillon.
Oval pommel. Wooden grip (original) but braided wire binding missing except for Turk's heads finials. The vestige of the leather hilt lining consists of a washer like leather ring. The hilt is much blackened.
Blade is double edged, no fuller but central rib for whole length.
No blade marks.
