Physical Description
Talwar'. Heavy polished curved blade of Damascus steel (?). Weathered. Guarded hilt with single finger-guard, riveted to quillon, decorated by two beaked knobs. Quillon tapered to knob ends. Waisted languet with triangular point at apex. Disc-shaped pommel topped by knobbed hemisphere, hole through knob centre, surrounded by 10-point star. All iron, decorated by badly worn floral patterned silver bidri work. Worn black leather scabbard. c.f. Egerton pp. 131-2.
