Battle Axe, D24.2285

Convex, curved steel blade. Single central mount with shaft through centre. Wooden shaft, dark brown/black, bound with 5cm iron strap where blade mounted, notched at top. Reinforced by 39cm long iron strip running longitudinally from blade mount down. Bound to shaft by five sets of brass wire bindings. Shaft topped by decorated bronze steeple (?), tapering to top, iron spear point inserted in top. Brass pommel fastened by iron rivet/nail on bottom.
