Physical Description
Fine, light wood, smoothly finished. Thin, curved seat, with four small triangles incised on top. Middle section shaped like a drum, but is intended to represent a cocoa pod. Flat, tiered base. General appearance is of a nicely carved model, little handled, and in good condition. Original documentation would suggest 1950s.

Trinket. Model of traditional Ashanti stool. Stools of this general style were (and to some extent still are) symbols of authority, symbol of one's standing within the culture. The specific design of each stool has specific meaning - tells a story, reflects a myth.
