Physical Description
Nephrite/pounamu Hei Tiki with cord attached. Kawakawa variety , feather fractures, high translucency, South Westland source.Typical of stone from Barn Bay collected by Capt. Anglem and traded extensively with North Island Maori. Grass-green pounamu with black speckles throughout. Head of hei tiki is tilted to its left side. Bright red sealing wax evident in eyes. Both hands rest on thighs but no hands/fingers. Three 'bumps' are evident along bottom of hei tiki.
