Otago Museum COVID Policy

(April 2022 – Otago Museum does not require visitors to provide a My Vaccine Pass to enter the premises. All visitors over 12-years-old are required to wear a mask)

Following a detailed risk analysis, and in order to ensure the wellbeing of our community, our visitors, and our staff, we require everyone entering Otago Museum to be fully vaccinated, effective 3 December 2021.

It is our firm, evidence-based view that ensuring everyone is fully vaccinated will make our Museum as safe as it can be, whilst still allowing access to as many people as possible to enjoy our institution.

The Covid-19 Protection Framework, or traffic light system, will come into effect at 11.59pm on Thursday 2 December. From that time, all visitors to Otago Museum will need to show their My Vaccine Pass as evidence of full vaccination or certified medical exemption, at the entrance to the Museum. Children under 12 will be exempt.

Please see https://covid19.govt.nz/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-vaccination-certificates/my-vaccine-pass/ for more information on obtaining a My Vaccine Pass, and how the process will work.

Please note, all visitors must continue to use the Covid tracking app or registration form and wear a mask inside the Museum while Dunedin is at Orange or Red alert status.

We will continue to follow the advice and regulations of the Government, and review our policies as the Covid-19 situation evolves.

In practice, the Vaccination Pass system ensures that both staff and visitors feel safe at the Museum – he waka eke noa.
